WebNowse BETA Help

Tuning

In the [Tuning] tab you can change the WebNowse nowsing behavior. Most of the parameters have two parts (i) a value, and (ii) a variability in percent around the value. Most of the parameters have also allowed numeric ranges. Values outside these ranges are not accepted. When you put the focus in the numeric entry value box, its range is shown next to the [Key] label. The allowed range of variability is usually from 10% to 90%. Times are usually in seconds.

Nowsing (a.k.a. noise browsing)

To make nowsing slower or faster change the 'Wait time between requets' parameter. Bigger values mean slower nowsing.

To increase the nowse deepth per query, increase 'Maximum browsed pages per query' and 'Maximum browse time per query' values. A double-click in 'Maximum browse time for query' value opens a dialog where you can enter the time in minutes.

When loading web pages takes a lot of time, increase 'Wait time when page not completed'. The 'Wait time when page not completed' should be bigger than 'Wait time before stopping pages'. The internal resolution for 'Wait time when page not completed' is ~5 seconds.

The 'Wait time between requets' is added internally to 'Wait time when page not completed'.

The increase the number of links collected per page to visit next, increase the 'Sample of new links per page to collect' value (in percent).

Words

WebNowse selectively collects words in the web pages and saves them to wn-words.txt file, in the settings folder. The words are used to initialize new random queries. As the number of words grows up, WebNowse forgets some of the words. Normally, you do not need to change the words settings.

Emails

WebNowse collects the email addresses it finds in the web pages and saves them to wn-emails.txt file.

!!! The email send feature has not been implemented yet !!!

In the future, WebNowse will use the collected email addresses to send emails randomly to them, using the user local email accounts. Currently this feature has not been implemented.
