WebNowse BETA Help
General Settings
- Run automatically at PC startup - normally, you should check this option. WebNowse will then start automatically when you start the PC, so you do not need to remember to start it. For best results, WebNowse should run as much as possible. Remember to uncheck this option, if you want to remove and delete WebNowse.
- Start minimized to system tray - when you check 'Run automatically at PC startup', you should also check this option, so that WebNowse starts silently to the system tray, and you do not need to minimize it explicitly.
- Exit application if CPU usage is more than *% for * seconds - this is a guard condition, if the WebNowse (the embedded Internet Explorer) consumes too much CPU, the program will try to kill itself. The valid time range is [20-300] seconds with default values of 90 seconds. The resolution of the timer is +/- 5 seconds. WebNowse will restart automatically again after it kills it itself.
Debug Settings
The debug tab options are needed only by the author to debug WebNowse. Normally, you should not check these options.
- Show internal actions (verbose) - logs internal actions in the visited URLs log.
- Log visited URLs to file (wn-urls-log.txt) - writes all visited URLs to a file, in the settings folder. This option appends URLs and the file size can get large. You need to delete this file manually. This option is not safe, as the WebNowse visited URLs will be written to hard-disk and easily found.
